1 Big Love, the HBO television show, is about polygamy, a man with multiple wives.
The site is made by HBO to promote their show, with links to such things as episode guide, cast and crew, interviews, etc...
Here you can even buy Big Love t-shirts and mugs. The video section is also a good way for new viewers
to discover the show, giving plenty of trailers. The community section is especially interesting,
where the viewers can post their own opinions about each episode on bulletin board.
2 I decided to take a look at the bulletin board of the first episode. What I find is not only are people debating the
morality of polygamy, but also the responsiblity of supporting one's children. The main character, Bill, have 3 wives
and 7 children. It seems like he might be having a hard time supporting them. I do not want to judge 4 adults' choice
to live their lives in the way they chose, but I do believe that if the family cannot provide for their children,
there's probably a problem. We must think of the consequences of our actions, as it will affect the people that we
need to protect.

Alternatives to Marriage

1 I went to the website named Alternatives to Marriage. It is about unmarried people who are single, who choose not to marry, can't marry or live together before marriage. It is a national nonprofit organization. On the top of the website have pictures that the people smile very brightly. There are some detiles and several hot topics on the left side of the page.


2 This project is not against marriage. They advocate for the equal rights of unmarried people. They support information for the people who don't get married. They can choose the information that they want. People have rights and legal to choose their life in spite of cohabitation, living single or same-sex marriage. In my opinion, these lifestyles are acceptable. Nevertheless,same-sex marriage is not acceptable in my home country, and women have baby without marrying that will give occasion to critic, it is impossible for this behavior in the past because people very conservative during that period.

Excellent Book

I love The Horse Whisperer because I can learn more English from this novel. I think this is an excellent book, and lots of people that already read this novel might be like it. The circumstance is very attractive to me. I read the first chapter, then I couldn't put the book down, I want to know what happens in this novel. So I think it's a good way to study English, also I have more happiness from this novel.

My life

I stayed with my parents during my childhood. I lived with my grandparents when I studied in school, because my parents were busy with their business. They didn't have enough time to take care of me. If they have time, they'll come to see me in hurry. I can reach them, now we always talk with each other on the internet and make a call to each other. Now I miss them very much, they miss me also. I'll study hard and take care of myself. I said,"Don't worry about me" to them on the phone. I never cry when we see each other on the internet. I didn't want to let them see my tears. I must become stronger because I have gone abroad to study by myself. Here I don't have relatives around me.

Pilgrim

I like the horse named Pilgrim. He is a black beautiful horse. And he was very peaceful before the accident. In the accident, he wanted to prevent Grace from being hurt. He wanted to fight the truck, then he was injured. Pilgrim is very thankful. He is the clue of The Horse Whisperer. Because of the horse, the story can go on. So, I think Pilgrim is a very important role in the novel.
